New fire protection duct PYROLINE® Fibre Optics

If there is a fire, PYROLINE® Fibre Optics from OBO ensures the maintenance of electrical supply for up to 90 minutes.

OBO Bettermann presents its new guard against fire: The fire protection duct PYROLINE® Fibre Optics. With the duct made of fibre-glass light concrete fire protection plates, fibre optic cables of safety-relevant systems are perfectly protected in the event of fire. And, with regard to mounting, PYROLINE® Fibre Optics is versatile: Both its design for direct wall and ceiling mounting and for suspended mounting are available.

From outside, the water and frost-resistant fibreglass lightweight concrete fire protection plates of the PYROLINE® Fibre Optics not only offer safety in case of fire – they also protect the cables in the interior against moisture and extreme cold. The fire protection plates of material class A1 are not considered flammable. Its compacted external surface is smooth and friction-resistant.

The PYROLINE® Fibre Optics is particularly suitable as an E duct for the routing of fibre optic cables. In cases of fire, it can offer electrical function maintenance of class E30 to E90, according to the requirements of DIN 4102-12. Ablation coating is also applied to the inner sides of the duct as additional heat insulation in the event of fire. Thus, the duct offers optimum protection of the fibre optic cables of safety-relevant systems if there is an external fire, without any limiting of the transmission properties of the cables in case of fire. Thanks to its design, the fire protection duct allows compliance with all the bend radii for fibre optic cables. It can support loads of up to 22.5 kilograms per metre.

The PYROLINE® Fibre Optics fire protection duct is available in two different designs – for direct mounting on walls or under ceilings or for suspended ceilings. When mounted directly on walls or ceilings, the fittings can be adjusted flexibly to the local circumstances. After installation, the hard, friction-resistance surface of the fire protection duct can be painted and papered over with ease.

The suspended version of the PYROLINE® Fibre Optics can be mounted on wall brackets or on one of the support systems suspended from the ceiling. Mounted connectors permit quick replacements or the reassignment of cables. In addition, the pre-mounted connection elements simplify mounting. The right fittings mean that both horizontal and vertical changes of direction are easily possible.
