Electrical installation pipes, also referred to as empty pipes or installation pipes, form foundation of the electrical infrastructures. OBO electrical installation pipes, with their practical plug connection, provide flexibility and make installation and retrofitting even easier. The aluminium electrical installation pipes are completely smooth inside, enabling installers to easily pass cables through them. When producing steel pipes, normally the machining process creates a bulge along the welding seam. The OBO installation pipes have the annoying bulge removed directly after welding. This results in a smooth electrical installation pipe interior for especially efficient work.
The OBO Bettermann installation pipe systems are machined and tested according to IEC EN 61386 “Conduit systems for cable management” and IEC EN 60423 “Conduit systems for cable management – Outside diameters of conduits for electrical installations and threads for conduits and fittings”.

OBO aluminium electrical installation pipes are particularly suited to use under tough industrial conditions. They provide reliable protection against very heavy mechanical loads during cable routing. The different material and surface qualities, from galvanised to painted, allow perfect adaptation to the requirements of the appropriate environment. The electrical installation pipes from the OBO portfolio also ensure the maintenance of electrical function up to E30/E90. This qualifies them for the connection of safety-relevant equipment, such as fire alarm systems, emergency lighting or ventilation systems.
