Cable glands ensure strain relief and a secure seal when guiding cables into housing walls or insulation. In addition, they prevent cables from kinking, also protecting the electrical resources. They are available in various designs and materials. The OBO portfolio includes cap nut cable glands, cone cable glands and more – plus the matching accessories. OBO cable glands are available in metal and plastic.

Metal cap nut cable glands: Permanently secure screw connections

Tough conditions are no problem for the brass V-TEC VM. The proven V-TEC cap nut design ensures a secure hold of the cables. Protection rating IP68 is achieved with separate sealing rings and special OBO slat technology. Strain relief and tightness have been tested to DIN EN 62444. The metric or PG connection thread is suitable for universal use. The perfect thread adaptation with matching pitch ensures vibration resistance in vibration-intensive environments.

Plastic variants of the OBO cap nut cable glands

The proven plastic variants of the V-TEC cable glands enable quick, convenient installation on junction boxes and housings. Available with metric or PG connection thread, they are suitable for universal use. Protection rating IP68 is achieved thanks to the integrated sealing lip and special OBO slat technology. Strain relief and tightness of the PVC gland have been tested to DIN EN 62444.
With optimum thread adjustment, the V-TEC VM offers lasting vibration resistance. The V-TEC VM L features a long connection thread (up to 33 mm) for thick-walled housing penetrations. Both variants are suitable for a wide range of applications – from private residences to industrial use in the distributor cabinet. The application area of the connection elements ranges from –20 °C to +65 °C.

V-TEC TB separable cable gland

The separable cable gland V-TEC TB allows quick and simple installation – ideal for pre-terminated cables and connectors. It offers a secure seal, achieving protection rating IP67. The V-TEC TB is also unbeatable when refitting an existing installation or as a repair gland, as because there is no need to disassemble pre-mounted cables, it can be installed without interrupting the production process.

Formula Student Team – OBO supports the further development of the engine test bench

Hailing from Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart, the Formula Student Team consists of close to 120 students from the economics, technology and social affairs faculties. Since 2009, each year the Formula Student Team has developed a racing car, which until 2011 was powered by a combustion engine, before the switch was made to an electric motor.
