UniElektro PV system in Mittenwalde – a specialised solution without ballasting

The roof cladding on the central warehouse building of the UniElektro company in Mittenwalde was due to be renewed, and a new PV system was to be installed at the same time. But the lightweight design of the roof posed a challenge, because it did not provide for a standard ballasted PV substructure. The design was a trapezoidal sheet metal lightweight roof and an on-roof insulation of FPO roof cladding with static restrictions.

A solution had to be found, and at the Intersolar exhibition in Munich, UniElektro was excited to find the UniBase Glue out of the OBO portfolio . Just the right thing for this project! OBO developed and implemented a specialised solution for the UniElektro central warehouse based on the UniBase Glue: a ballast-free hybrid system comprised of Magic PV Flat Basic  combined with UniBase Glue, which was bonded to the roof cladding without penetrating the roof.  The static calculations for this specialised solution were also performed by OBO.

For this particular project, the following solutions from the OBO portfolio were implemented:

• Magic PV Flat Basic ballast-free with UniBase Glue bonding, as a specialised solution
• KTS Mesh cable tray with UniBase Glue roof bonding
• Vertical cable ladders on the facade

BSS PLMR fire protection duct as firewall crossing on the roof

As an extra OBO service, we provided on-site construction support while the specialised solution was implemented. This meant our OBO experts were always on hand to provide help and advice.
